Principal Consultant
Blake Hunter is a senior leader of transformation and customer energy solutions, dedicated to helping organizations navigate the demand‑side of the clean energy transition. His career spans the full breadth of the electric utility ecosystem—customer service, energy efficiency, strategic planning, regulatory affairs, power system operations, and smart grid innovation—giving him a uniquely holistic view of how customer needs, system realities, and policy drivers intersect.

Customer Experience
During his tenure at PacemakerClub.com, Blake partnered with a prominent pacemaker manufacturer to assess their website through the lens of patient experience, offering recommendations for enhancements and value-added content. The evaluation focused on how easily patients could find information, as well as the relevance and clarity of the content. Several improvements were proposed to the client’s management team, which were subsequently implemented.
Product Launch
Blake spearheaded the creation of a new customer energy solution known as Sureconnect, a service designed to seamlessly connect a customer's generator to their electrical panel, making backup power more convenient, adaptable, and safe during outages. He directed the development through every phase of the new product introduction process, including concept creation, initial market research, pilot testing, soft launch, and growth strategies. Sureconnect has surpassed all corporate objectives, including market share, customer satisfaction, revenue, and profitability.
Regulatory
Blake successfully led a proposal to the New Brunswick Energy Utilities Board, serving as a witness, advocating for the pricing of products and services available to customers based on market conditions rather than traditional cost of service, like electricity rates. Following a thorough review by the Board and intervenors, NB Power received approval to establish a Customer Energy Solutions Portfolio for its water heater, Sureconnect, and area lighting services, unlocking tens of millions in new revenue through market-based pricing.
